TAKING CARE OF IT

Great value for money, a caring approach, trust, transparency and providing exceptional levels of service – these are just some of the many positive values at the core of Techminder.

Our mission is to provide first class IT support to clients throughout the North West and further afield. As a managed service provider, we look after our clients’ workstations, Wi-Fi, network security, mobile devices (eg Google tablets, iPhones and iPads) and operating systems including Microsoft and Apple.

Using Techminder brings clients reassurance and peace of mind because they have knowledgeable and experienced IT specialists ready to sort out any issues which arise and to help them plan for the future.

We offer both scheduled on-site and remote helpdesk support to meet our clients’ needs. We work with them on short and long-term strategies, based around realistic budgets, so they can make informed decisions which bring lasting benefits.

Our focus is primarily on mainstream primary and secondary schools, multi-academy trusts and other educational establishments, such as colleges, universities and training providers. We also have a track record of supporting special needs schools and alternative provision establishments. Essentially, we work with any organisation that has an office, whether that be local government, public sector or independent businesses.

OUR EVOLUTION

The company was launched in 2017 by Joel Thornton and Darren Shaw, who had been employed providing IT support at a multi-academy trust. With recognised industry qualifications and practical experience providing IT support to schools under their belts, the enterprising duo decided to set up their own business, originally known as The Little IT Company, which has gone from strength to strength.

To celebrate the success and the evolution of the business, Little IT relaunched as Techminder in 2022 to reflect the essence of the firm – combining technology with the burning desire to take care of customers and their IT.

WHY WE DO IT

Our main focus is ensuring that a client’s IT infrastructure is robust and reliable. We assess, evaluate and make recommendations about upgrading hardware and software if this required. It is crucial their systems are in optimum condition to reduce cyber security risks and sanctions through avoidable breaches of data protection laws.

We are interested in having a long-term relationship with our clients and being a valued partner and, because we take pride in being part of their community, we always go the extra mile to ensure the best possible service.

Our experience means we have a strong understanding and empathy with the specific needs of educational establishments. Our overriding goal is to help them give pupils and students the best possible chances in life.

We understand the vital importance IT plays in teaching and learning. Without high-quality support, students and their life chances can be affected. Data can be lost and precious teacher time can be wasted trying to fix IT problems rather than expanding pupils’ horizons and transforming their lives. It is also vital staff have the ability and confidence to utilise the latest cutting-edge technologies in modern, high-tech classrooms where they know the equipment is reliable.

Techminder’s ethos is all about providing great levels of service, being caring and personable – and never coming across as being like a robot at the end of the phone!

As for the future, we already have a reputation for giving great advice and service, acting in the best interests of everybody and not just the bottom line – now our aim is to demonstrate those qualities to even more clients and to ensure they are provided with the best possible IT solutions.
